A milestone for the German PID landscape: National PID Roadmap published!

As a key milestone of the project, the “PID Roadmap for Germany” has now been published in German and English.

The roadmap is based largely on the comprehensive empirical data collected by the PID Network Deutschland project, including the extensive PID survey conducted in 2024 (https://doi.org/10.5334/dsj-2026-028). It synthesizes these findings into five concrete recommendations for action to strengthen the national PID ecosystem in a targeted manner and ensure its long-term sustainability.

Available in two languages: The PID Roadmap is now available in both German (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21703674) and English (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21713802).
Historical Addendum: Along with the Roadmap, the publication “Über die Genese der deutschen PID-Infrastruktur" (On the Origins of the German PID Infrastructure) has been released as a standalone addendum on Zenodo in German (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21699994). The publication offers in-depth insight into the development and technological foundations of the PID landscape in Germany.
